We just love playing the blues.
Live it day by day.
Mike " Curly" Carter
Mike "Curly" Carter, Guitar and Vocal:
Grew up in rural Ruffin, NC. Been playing guitar and singing since age 13. Have played and sung many types of music but the blues is what I love best.
I met the woman of my dreams at a party in 1967. Married in 1970. She is what inspired me to write "Got a Real Good Woman". She has stood by me through thick and thin. There will never be another one like her.
"The Blues is my true passion." "I feel what I play and sing." "I play and sing what I feel." "The Blues can really soothe one's Soul." "I really enjoy sharing this with others."
Influences:
Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Eric Clapton, T-Bone Walker, BB King,
Willie Dixon, Jimmy Reed, Buddy Guy, Howlin' Wolf, and many more.
"Wild" Bill Moore
“Wild” Bill Moore, Bass Guitar: Cut his musical teeth on the Stones and the Beatles, while growing up in New York state—but was captured by the blues when he heard Albert King’s Born Under a Bad Sign album in the ‘60s.
Got a cheap guitar in high school but didn’t begin to play in bands until he moved to Greensboro, NC, and got a bass in the 80s. First band, playing bass, was the Red Road Blues Band; played guitar in the Blue Smoke Blues Band when the band won the regional PBPS Blues Contest; played bass for Melva Houston in two different blues bands.
Co-author of AMPEG: The Story Behind the Sound history and technical book.
“You don’t hafta play loud to play with feeling.” “Tell the story.” “I have a deep devotion to the old greasy laid-back blues grooves.” “Break it down!”
